We are open today until 5ish or until we sell out of chili meat. The next 2 weeks are the Winslow school district's fall break. We will be closed both weeks. See you today or October 15. Have a good break. Thanks for always thinking of us. #gotchilifries?? #familychilifries

Every day we are going to make a small batch of gluten free chili meat. For those asking about it, here it is. Call ahead to make sure we still have some.

Summer's kinda over except for the heat. We are open. 10:30am-8pm.

Last day open before a short summer break! We will reopen in a few weeks. Not sure of the date yet. We will be closing today when we run out of chili meat (probably around 2 or 3pm).

I know it's Cardinals day, but I need to thank this amazing community for all of the birthday wishes from last Saturday for my Dad's 70th birthday. Lots of tears and laughs. Thank you.

THANK YOU WINSLOW For the wonderful support celebrating the "Root Beer Stand's" 60 years on this corner. A special thank you goes out to: Clyde and Ada Rhoton who built it in 1957 and called it the BULLDOG DRIVE-IN, their daughter Trudy and husband Bob Larson who came from St George UT, HA and Jane Soehner, their son Harold, and daughter Jeanne O'Haco, Loy Engelhardt and KINO radio, Shauna Barker Painted Desert Promotions, Mayor Boyd, Lisa Long and Growling Productions for the pictures, RT Rentals, Jackie Payne for the tasty Root Beer Mug Cake, Tess Kenna, Jim Ervien and TJ Scofield for bringing their cars. A BIG Thank You goes out to all of the Employees from the first to the last from 1957 to 2017, we were honored to have Nixie Petranovich first hired by the Rhotons there. It was so nice to have so many former employees come, and comments from all who couldn't be there, and to our current employees for their hard work and support. Last, but definitely not least Thank you Roland, Natalie, Mason, Ava, Lucy, and Coleman for coordinating everything, and the wonderful gifts celebrating 60 years. Frosted icy mugged root beer! Back in the day we used to serve our root beer in cold mugs. Today only, we bring that back only this time you get to keep the mug! Our logo is etched in the glass. They are awesome. They are $10. We only have about 50 but we will do orders for anyone that wants one after we run out. Sorry, but first come first served until they disappear. By the way, the face of the Darrel's Root Beer Stand, my mom Sandra, has been ridiculously excited about this anniversary and can't wait to see all of your smiling faces!

Today is the day! We open at 10:30! 60 cent hot dogs and 60 cent fountain drinks and slushes. We have prizes, drawings, music, and memories. Scratcher tickets with prizes will be handed out randomly. Trudy Rhoton Larsen (daughter of the first owners of the Root Beer Stand) as well as some of the Soehner's (2nd owners) will be here to celebrate. Anyone who knows them please stop by to reminisce. At 2pm we will put the kitchen on pause for a moment so all of our employees can join in the festivities as we honor those that made this business possible. Thank you for 60 years!

For the rest of this week, including Saturday, we will be selling all of our fountain drinks and slushes for 60 cents plus tax. That is any size drink excluding gallons, floats, freezes, and shakes for this small amount of pocket change. Happy 60th anniversary week.
